Terms of Service

These terms apply when you rent a storage unit from Crest Self Storage Ltd. By signing our storage agreement in person, you agree to the following:

1. Agreement

Your rental is a rolling weekly contract. It continues automatically until you provide written notice to cancel. There is no fixed term or long-term commitment.

2. Payments and Fees

•  All storage fees must be paid in advance.
•  Late payments may result in fees, restricted access, or action to recover the debt.
•  No deposits are taken.
  
• Fees apply whether or not the unit is fully used.

3. Access and Security

•  Customers have 24/7 access to their units.
  
• You are responsible for supplying your own padlock and securing your unit at all times.
  
• Access may be restricted for safety reasons or in cases of non-payment.

4. Prohibited Items

For safety and compliance reasons, the following must not be stored:

• Food, perishables, or living animals
  
• Flammable, explosive, or hazardous materials
• Illegal or stolen goods
• Battery-powered vehicles (e.g., e-scooters, e-bikes) with batteries still installed
• Items that leak, emit strong odours, or attract pests

If you are unsure whether something is permitted, please contact us before storing it.

5. Insurance (StoreProtect)

We do not automatically insure your goods. You are responsible for ensuring adequate cover.

If you choose our optional StoreProtect insurance:

• Claims must be reported within 7 days of discovering loss or damage
• A £250 excess applies to each claim
• Any payout is limited to the amount agreed by our insurer

6. Ending Your Agreement

• You may cancel your agreement at any time with at least 7 days’ written notice.
• No refunds are issued for unused days unless agreed in writing.
• Goods left behind after cancellation may be considered abandoned and removed or disposed of.

7. Liability

We are not liable for loss or damage to your belongings unless caused by our clear negligence. If we are found liable, our responsibility is limited to £100, unless you have purchased StoreProtect insurance.

8. Privacy

We handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You may update your contact details and preferences at any time.

9. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by Scottish law. Disputes will be referred to mediation before any legal proceedings are considered.
